Pair Hand Forged French 1" Holdfasts, Ready to Ship

This pair of hand-forged holdfasts made for 1” diameter holes are closely inspired by (but not exact reproductions of) an original that a fellow sent me photos and measurements of that is dated 1771 and is further marked with a fleur-de-lis. Seems a safe bet that it is French! That original is one of the most highly-decorated holdfasts I’ve seen, with all the decoration you see on these new ones and then some. These are my first attempt at copying that original, and I am thrilled with how they turned out. Heirloom pieces for sure, and the perfect companions to any bench- but of course especially a French-styled one! Overall height is 15”, reach is 9”. Ready to ship.
